Movie Round-up: Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and The End of Oak Street
It’s been quite a few years since the last Spider-Man movie, and it was a hard one to top. The previous movie, Spider-Man: No Way Home, brought back all of the previous Spider-Men, and quite a few previous Spider-Man villains. It was a lot of fun and kind of felt like the end of the series. Thankfully, Spider-Man: Brand New Day does not disappoint. It’s not my favorite Spider-Man movie, and it certainly lacks a lot of the fun and humor that was central in the other Tom Holland Spider-Man movies, but it is still a lot of fun and definitely worth the watch.
Grade: A-
The End of Oak Street, which stars Ewan McGregor and Anne Hathaway, was also a lot of fun. It is sort-of like Jurassic Park meshed with Back to the Future. An entire neighborhood goes back in time to the prehistoric era, forcing the family to survive in a dinosaur-filled world. It is going for an early 90’s movie feel, and it pulls it off. I think most will enjoy this one, but especially if you grew up on Spielberg. It’s a fun watch.
