Utah Jazz: Probably won’t make the playoffs, but that’s okay
The Utah Jazz have lost five of their last six games and the Lakers are now only one game behind them, and they have momentum. I hate to say it, but I think the Jazz are going to miss out on the playoffs this year. Injuries have hurt them, as has their youth and inexperience. I’m a Jazz fan, so I’d love to see them in the playoffs, but I don’t think it’s a terrible thing if they miss out this year. They need to make some big changes in the off-season, so we’re looking at a different roster next year anyway. Getting a better draft pick means, hopefully, a chance at a better player for the future. Also, some of these young guys like to take some games off (mentally speaking), so missing out on the playoffs might teach them that they need to stay focused all season.
Also, even if they miss the playoffs, Enes Kanter has done some great things this season and given me hope for a bright future. Derek Favors, while he’s been a bit disappointing, has also shown some great promise as of late. Gordon Hayward has played amazingly well since his return from injury as well. I think with those young guys, plus whatever they can do in the off season, the Jazz still have a bright future ahead of them.
