After almost a year of waiting, 30 Rock is back on Thursday nights, and the first four episodes are some of the funniest the series has ever produced.\u00a0 If you have never watched, or have tried but just couldn\u2019t get into it, now is a good time to try again.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Last season had it\u2019s moments, but overall wasn\u2019t great.\u00a0 The writing lacked punch, and the show often came across as too smart for its own good.\u00a0 It felt like it was trying to be clever rather than funny.\u00a0 So far, that hasn\u2019t been an issue this year.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Even though it\u2019s coming on mid-season, there will still be a full 22 episode order, meaning no reruns and some weeks we\u2019ll see two all-new episodes.\u00a0<\/p>\n
In spite of winning several Emmy awards for best comedy, critical praise, and a cast that features Alec Baldwin, Tina Fey, Tracy Jordan, and guest stars like Matt Damon, James Marsden, Kelsey Grammar, and others, 30 Rock has never achieved high ratings, which is sad because it really is the best comedy since Seinfeld (sorry Arrested Development, but the second half of season two and all of season three put you out of the running).\u00a0<\/p>\n
If you\u2019re not watching 30 Rock, give it a few episodes.\u00a0 I promise you\u2019ll be hooked.<\/p>\n
If fact NBC\u2019s entire Thursday night lineup (with the exception of Up All Night) is the best they\u2019ve had since the Seinfeld days.\u00a0 The office is flourishing without Steve Carrell, Parks & Rec is on the bubble and likely won\u2019t be renewed next year, which is a shame because after a terrible first season and a half, it\u2019s become a great comedy.\u00a0 Community is hit-and-miss, but when it\u2019s funny, it\u2019s really funny. CBS \u2013 Person of Interest\u00a0 – Thursday nights:\u00a0 Despite a ridiculous plot, this is a really fun show most because of Jim Caviezal (best know from movies Frequency and The Passion of the Christ).\u00a0 He\u2019s like batman without a mask.<\/p>\n FX \u2013 Justified \u2013 Tuesday nights: This critically acclaimed series just started it\u2019s third season, and so far it could be its best.\u00a0 Check it out if you don\u2019t mind a little violence.<\/p>\n <\/code><\/p>\n
