Bagley Insurance: Service, Value & Education For All Your Insurance Needs

Movie Review: The Internship

Vince Vaughn co-wrote, co-produced, and co-starred in this movie about two aging salesman (the other played by Owen Wilson) who land an intership at Google despite having almost no computer knowledge or practical experience.

This movie received some of the worst reviews of the year and didn’t do well at the box office, and I don’t understand why.  I was laughing throughout and thought Vaughn was at his comedic best here.  It is far from a perfect movie, but a lot of the jokes landed for me and everyone else in the theater seemed to be enjoying it too.

People seem to have just gotten tired of Vince Vaughn, and it’s hard to blame them.  His last few movies have been decent at best, although it’s usually his choice of roles that’s the problem, not his performances.  Fred Clause, The Dilemma, and Couples Retreat are a few movies probably wishes I could remove from his IMDB page.  But Vaughn himself, as he proves here, has always been funny, and he and Wilson have great chemistry together.

Although Vaughn has most of the big laughs, they play off each other perfectly.  This is a movie that has some big laughs and a lot of heart.  I’d recommend checking it out when it comes to DVD.
